GREEN LANDMARKS ABOUT PROJECT FOR MEDIA THE GREEN LANDMARKS BOOKLINKS
CONTACTS
The Green Landmarks project was created based on a governmental contract between the State Environment Fund of the Czech Republic and Slavonická renesanční, o.p.s.
The aim of the project is to promote and discuss the idea of lowering energy standards of historical monuments and buildings in the Czech Republic.
The Green Landmarks project makes it possible for experts and different interest groups to meet and compare their perspectives.
It is a place for discussing the philosophy that stands behind the process of protecting and incorporating cultural heritage into contemporary life. It aims to search for a common direction that would steer together the tracks of historic preservation, up-to-date development, architecture and modern technology. Green Landmarks present examples of historically valuable buildings, some implemented and others that are currently underway, where it has been possible to decrease energy consumption or to take advantage of renewable resources through various kinds of modifications.
Our project certainly cannot cover all the issues involving green preservation of monuments, and this has never been its goal, rather it aims to contribute to an issue that is topical in the Czech Republic as elsewhere, to come up with interesting examples and to bring up new questions.
